Narrative
Julian struggles to adjust to his new school after being expelled for his interaction with Auggie Pullman. His grandmother visits him, and the story of his attempts to escape Nazi-occupied France during World War II changes him. Later that month, the film was quietly pulled from the schedule and moved to August 25, 2023, due to its lack of success at the fall 2021 box office, and due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, it was moved again to an unspecified date. . Grandmère mentions that Julian was expelled from Beecher Prep in Auggie in Wonder (2017) for bullying. However, in this movie, Julian was never expelled from Beecher Prep for bullying Auggie.

He was suspended for two days and when his parents heard this, they decided to withdraw him from school at the end of the school year. Julian Albans: Right now I’m just trying to fit in. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that… If the film leaves a legacy, it is for all of us to use the light within ourselves to end today’s injustice, for only then can we be sure that the darkness of the past will never repeat itself. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned about this from everything that is happening in the world.
