Features Nosferatu, a symphony of strave (1922)
Narrative
Two girls go missing. The police recruit Paul Chartier, who joins an undercover unit tracking a sex offender. After the operation falters, Chartier pursues the culprits on his own, frustrated by legal constraints.
no pun intended anyway
I know it should be called "if you can" … and I think that would have worked too… but I decided to go that route…
who did what to whom
The film is based on a true story – I have no idea what happened in the 90s… and as I understand it, it requires a lot of creative permissions… who survived and who didn’t…
Greeks party similarly – like Italiansdoes the story need that?
and I think the main character (the police/gendarmerie) is an amalgamation of many characters into one – of course I could be wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that were the case. , the film could be long (2.5 hours), but it never feels that way. Well, maybe at the wedding at first…you’ve been there, done that and you know it.
I would argue that it doesn’tbut maybe I’m missing something
The emotional part is really well done…you feel for the main character…there’s a lot wrong with him…he has a right eye, he has a right "nose"…but will he be able to convince others of that? Many units work almost against each other…it’s well told and acted…still I lack the x-factor to make it too much…as much praise as it received…and as good as it is…it lacks the final push…maybe a little more charisma…more tension…and so on.
