Narrative
Adaptation of James Patterson’s series of novels about the complex and brilliant detective Alex Cross. The sequel to the 2001 film Along Came a Spider; and the 2012 film Alex Cross, starring Tyler Perry as the titular character, bombed at the box office, leading Lionsgate to scrap the previously planned sequel Double Cross. I’ve read a few of the Alex Cross books, and I found them to be a bit too scary for my taste, although I thought they were well-written with good stories and characters. Somehow, I found the show more interesting with good writing and characters. But the picture is very dark. I have to turn off all the lights in my room and turn the TV to bright mode (I have an LG OLED). It’s like the people responsible for the picture quality went out to lunch. The cinematography is great on one hand, but in terms of the brightness of the picture it is so far above all the other shows, it throws me off. It would be great if they made this up.
