The incident of Valya Harkonnen using the voice of 'Mentats of Dune' connects the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and The Suk Doctors.. AniMat's Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) is mentioned. I don’t want to be critical of just the first episode of a TV show, but this was normal on every level. The acting was below par, except for the big names like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams.
The story was so lame and the dialogue was so lackluster
The rest of the cast felt like they dropped out of the Academy or something. I like slow dramas that take forever to build up because I know the reward is worth waiting for. But this wasn’t just slow, a lot happened, but it was just boring, and I don’t know how else to put it. The soundtrack that the movies have been doing is a bit off here and there, with familiar sounds coming through here and there but it’s just not in the right time.
My question is, did he like making this?
It’s like I’ve heard a lot of songs here that have no effect. I remember how many times we’d sit in movies and people would talk and wonder if Hans Zimmer was doing his magic, or if I was just being excited. But I know he wasn’t part of any of the voice acting here, and I don’t even want to check. I’m not sure Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, and I don’t expect him to be.
Food for thought
After two epic movies, will a mediocre TV show like this have any impact on the much-anticipated third movie? The reason I’m surprised is because The Penguin was so good that I couldn’t wait for The Batman 2 to come out, and I couldn’t wait for the 2nd movie. So if there is a Dune: Prophecy 3 movie, it’s going to affect it in some way.
