Ruth, whose husband is in a coma, has lost her right to sell maple syrup to a cartel led by Leonard
Narrative
When maple syrup farmer Ruth Landry finds her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a scheme to get revenge and shake up the industry. Loosely based on the 2011-2012 theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a warehouse in Quebec; five people were sentenced to prison.. An unlikely cast of characters, caught in dire straits, try to pull off a maple syrup heist to save their financial woes.
He is the sole keeper of all the maple syrup supplies
It turns out that her husband owns the rights to harvest the syrup, so she is fined for illegally using his rights. Remy, a kind of sad character, is the keeper of the warehouse where all the syrup is stored, and he sneaks out of the warehouse at night with a barrel or two with a friend who suddenly dies. Since Ruth got into financial trouble, the only way forward was theft on a much larger scale, and she and Remy brought Mike into the scheme.
The truth is quite different
Mike comes across as a powerhouse who can do great things. And with all the personality clashes and mix-ups, he almost becomes a caper for the Keystone cops. Every time they seem to have everything under control, obstacles happen, and their approach to trying to solve it is a great part of the humor.
And a very interesting cameo
The deal is that it leads into season two, so there are a lot of loose ends. And as was very clearly stated, the real theft was not committed in this way. So it is a funny fictional account.
