The life of a young glass blower in training and his relationships over the years, while his land goes through wars and conflicts. This is Pakistan’s first hand drawn animated film. BEFORE you get upset, read my review till the end and think The Glass Worker is a good film, not going to lie, and I have been following it for the past 4 or 5 years. Usman Riaz – The story is going to have issues and boy did it have a lot of them. The ending was confusing to say the least as a lot of the film’s plot was missing and the film wrapped it up pretty quickly. It also didn’t feel “original” as Usman Riaz was inspired by Ghibli which actually made the film feel “too” Ghibli inspired. I know it’s his first film but if it had been original it would have been better and also made it more natural and calm instead of overdoing it too much. IF you really want to see what a “MASTERPIECE” is then this is the best film to watch. Go watch HAYOA MIYAZAKI’s first movie “Nausicaä The Valley of the Wind”. Or “Castle in the Sky” then you will truly understand the art of animation and the beauty of a true master story. I am referring to A LOT of animated movies and especially Japanese ones as I like their natural 2D artwork. I am quite selective with my animated movies and this one was an easy 7/10. The main reason is that although the animation was beautiful and enjoyable, the story lacked a lot and seemed amateurishly written, plus the Urdu dubbing of the movie didn’t have any natural feel to it. I highly recommend watching the movie in ENGLISH instead of URDU because the original script of the movie is in English that’s why the Urdu version looks like a Google translation lol.
